About This Resource

Are you seeking fun activities before Spring Break or after Spring Break writing activities to add to your creative writing curriculum? This Spring Mad Libs activity can also be used for fun activities after state testing. It includes 12 fill-in-the-blank and finish the story writing prompts. Spring-themed stories encourage students to use their creative thinking skills to write a fun new narrative in April.

Six complete stories require students to create a list of words that they will use to complete their fill-in-the-blank story. After completing their Literary Laughable passage, students will create a brand new Easter or Spring story with fill-in-the-blank options for a classmate to complete.

Additionally, six incomplete Literary Laughable stories end on a cliffhanger. Students will be required to create a new narrative that continues from where the story left off and provides a logical resolution to the story.

FAQ: What is a Literary Laughable?

It’s just a fun and fancy name for a fill-in-the-blank story passage. Students discover a new way to be creative and see that writing can be fun.

The Cliffhanger Literary Laughables also give students practice creating creative narrative writing that requires them to craft a logical ending.
